From the conversation
Why did you start looking for a coach?
I have always believed that as a founder, the impact you can have can be really exponential if you're making the right decisions. Therefore the obvious thing for a founder to do is to upskill, to work with coaches.
What changed your mind about coaching?
I've always thought, oh, a coach is just an expensive therapist. But really great coaches, like I found now, can do far more and can meaningfully change the trajectory of the company.
What makes your coach right for this stage?
He's a brilliant pattern recognizer. He's very, very quick. His intuition is very strong. And he's coached over 12 companies from basically zero to over a billion dollars valuation.
How do you think about the return?
Coaching sessions could drive millions in enterprise value. If you find a coach who genuinely has good decision-making, their ability to guide some of the most important decisions can have really outsized impacts.
What has changed since?
Since working with a coach, I've noticed Superpower's revenue has really shot up. We've raised a large amount of money. The team is working far more effectively together.

Max Marchione, Co-Founder and CEO of Superpower, in conversation with Titan. Lightly edited for clarity.
Why Superpower was founded
I'm Max, CEO of Superpower, and we're building a new health system that focuses on preventing disease and enhancing human capability. From age 10 to 14, I had chronic migraines. So I was medicating every single day with painkillers. I saw 20-something doctors, and all of them thought my problem was their specialty. And then I finally found one genius doctor who solved it. Ever since then, I've been obsessed with this idea of how can everyone have access to that kind of genius doctor. Superpower is an all-in-one health membership. We take high-end concierge care and make that available to the masses.
Early challenges building the company
I knew nothing at the start, and company building in the early days is brutal. It's hard to hire. I'd just moved to the U.S. I knew no one. For the first two years of the company, I lived in the office.
Why he chose coaching
I have always believed that as a founder, the impact you can have can be really exponential if you're making the right decisions. Therefore, the obvious thing for a founder to do is to upskill. To work with coaches. I've always thought, oh, a coach is just an expensive therapist. But I think really great coaches, I've found now, can do far more and can meaningfully change the trajectory of the company. And that's what I've seen in the past six months.
How Titan improved Superpower
Since working with a coach, I've noticed Superpower's revenue has really shot up. We've raised a large amount of money. The team is working far more effectively together. The coach I have through Titan is really great for our current stage of Superpower because he's a brilliant pattern recognizer. He's very, very, very quick. His intuition is very strong. He's coached over 12 companies from zero to over a billion dollars valuation. Coaching sessions could drive millions in enterprise value. And the reason there is really simple, which is if you find a coach who genuinely has good decision-making, their ability to guide some of the most important decisions can have really outsized impacts.
Superpower's growth and ambition
Today, Superpower has around 100 people on our team, tens of thousands of members and tens of millions in revenue. One in three of our members say we changed their life. In the first 12 to 18 months, we're on track to do over $100 million in revenue, which is really a testament to the team and the product we've built. What we're working on can be one of the most consequential companies on earth. And really, we're just getting started.
