Your GameTape Notetaker is a powerful tool designed to seamlessly capture and analyze your meetings. Follow these best practices to ensure it works effectively and integrates smoothly into your workflow.
1. Name Your Notetaker
A clear and identifiable name makes it easy for participants to recognize the Notetaker in your meetings. You can rename your Notetaker from the Settings Tab in your dashboard.
Recommendation: Use your first name followed by “Notetaker” (e.g., “Richard’s Notetaker”).
Pro Tip: You can update the name anytime in your Notetaker settings for better personalization.
2. Configure Auto-Join Settings
Tailor which meetings your Notetaker attends to suit your needs:
Meetings with My Team: Automatically join meetings where all participants share your company domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com).
External Meetings: Include meetings with participants from outside your organization (e.g., @clientcompany.com).
Meetings: Capture meetings you’ve been invited to but haven’t accepted yet.
Meetings Organized by Others: Ensure your Notetaker is present even in meetings you’re not hosting.
Pro Tip: Use these settings to prevent your Notetaker from joining sensitive or non-essential meetings.
3. Meeting Attendance
Whether scheduled through auto-join settings or added manually, the Notetaker behaves differently based on the platform:
Google Meet: Joins as a non-video participant. If needed, remove the Notetaker from the participant list to stop recording.
Zoom: Joins as a video participant with a simple, unbranded Notetaker image. The host must accept the Notetaker into the meeting and grant recording permissions.
Pro Tip: If you remove the Notetaker from a meeting, the recording will stop immediately, and data captured up to that point will still be available in GameTape.
4. Add your Notetaker to a live meeting
If you need your Notetaker to join a meeting it is not already attending, you can use the 'Add to Like Meeting' feature to have the Notetaker join.
Join By Link: You can add your Notetaker to any Google Meet or Zoom meeting by inputting the link
Join Meeting Button (Coming Soon): You can add your Notetaker to any scheduled meeting with the push of a button
Pro Tip: If you remove the Notetaker from a meeting, you can add it back later with these features.
