How We Work

How we match Series A to C founders with coaches

We have 48 coaches in the Titan network. Every one of them is exceptional. To match you with the right ones we think about three dimensions of fit.

A lot of coaching firms match on availability. Some match on vibes. We think that's how you end up with a coach who's technically impressive but not actually useful.

We match on three dimensions: experience, modality, and personality. Here's what we look at in each.

The three dimensions of fit

1. Experience

Do they have outlier success in your context?

The first question is whether the coach has demonstrated outlier success in a situation that resembles yours - either as an operator or as a coach, ideally both. That means relevant stage, relevant industry, and relevant role. A coach who scaled a B2B SaaS company to $200M ARR brings a very different frame than one who did it in consumer hardware.

2. Modality

Does their approach fit your most important problems?

We believe deeply in scenario-based coaching. A coach isn't generically excellent - they're excellent in specific situations. The scenario is the combination of your stage, your role, the challenges you're facing, and the goals you're chasing. A coach who's extraordinary at helping a founder through founder-led sales transitions may not be the right fit for someone navigating a difficult co-founder dynamic or a board dispute. So beyond raw experience, we ask: does this coach's approach actually address what you need most right now?

3. Personality

Does how they speak fits how you need to hear things?

This one is harder to quantify but impossible to ignore. A coach can be perfectly matched on experience and modality and still be wrong for you if the dynamic doesn't land. We look at coaching style across a few spectrums: are they more Socratic or more advisory? Are they a challenger or a supporter? Are they warmer or more direct? None of these is better - they're just different. And different founders need different things.

The Discovery Call

Before we recommend anyone, we do a thorough discovery call with you. We're building a picture across all three dimensions - not just what company you're running, but where you are in it, what's keeping you up at night, how you process feedback, and what kind of coaching relationship has worked or failed for you in the past.

We're also doing something that might feel counterintuitive: we need to sell you to the coaches, not just the coaches to you. The best coaches in our network are selective. They do their best work in specific scenarios, with specific kinds of founders. Part of our job is finding the match where the coach is as excited about working with you as you are about working with them.

That level of rigor is why 98% of the founders we place stay with their coach for 12 or more months. It's not because we got lucky. It's because we did the work upfront to get the match right.

The right coach at the wrong stage is still the wrong coach.
